Manufactured in Germany, the MP15S is a sound-suppressed version of the MP15, which in turn is the standard submachine gun of the Western Coalition.
Either weapon utilizes the new 7mm Advanced Personal Defense round, which is a light round designed for penetration and after-tumbling. The APD round actually uses a 6.8mm bullet, but
here in a shortened pistol format.
It was named '7mm' to prevent troops from confusing it with the 6.8mm Light Rifle round, used in the ARC3.-- Field Guide text entry
The MP15S uses a 7mm defensive round, which is designed to inflict massive trauma on its targets by penetrating body armor, and then tumbling inside the enemy causing internal injuries.
The 7mm round actually uses the same bullet as the 6.8mm rifle round used by the ARC3 Assault Rifle, but with a different casing round to prevent it from being used in the ARC3. The 7mm designation is used to avoid confusion with 6.8mm rounds when loading magazines.
The Field Guide rates the MP15S as follows:
- Weapon Range: 3 of 5
- Damage: 1 of 5
- Rate of Fire: 5 of 5
- Ammunition: 7mm APD Round
- Feed Device: 50 Round Magazine
